On March 2nd and 3rd thousands of NYC Vegetarians, Vegans, and the Veg-curious came out to the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival to sample, purchase, and learn about vegan food and lifestyle. Add in some animal rights organizations and farmed animal sanctuaries, the NYC Veg Food Fest is sure to be a hot spot for our favorite vegan super stars (every vegan is a super star to us)! That means, that in this spectacular 100th episode of Vegan Radio we hit the mother-load on interviews!!

Over 700 New Yorkers showed up to show support and raised over $70,000 for Farm Sanctuary. Our 66th show is bound to go down in obscure history books as "The Vegan Paul Show". We feature an interview with one of our heroes in the movement, Captain Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. The interview was conducted by Derek at the 2008 Farm Sanctuary Hoe Down. Sea Shepherd is an organization committed to the eradication of pirate whaling, poaching, shark finning, unlawful habitat destruction, and violations of established laws in the World's oceans.

We start with an interview with Molly Lorenz, who has organized a group of vegan artists and craftspeople on the web site Etsy called Vegan Etsy. Molly herself uses the site to sell dog treats at her shop Emma's K9 Kitchen.

Our 57th show features interviews with two prominent animal rights activists who are involved in fun events happening in NYC on Sunday May 18th, 2008. The first is Pamela Rice who has put together the first ever Veggie Pride Parade which will march through the meat district and feature vegan rocker Cheryl Hill and a marriage ceremony officiated by Vegan Radio favorite Dave Warwak.

Hannah Kaminsky is the author of My Sweet Vegan, and also takes the beautiful photographs for her cookbook and BitterSweet blog!

Hannah is only 19 years old and attends UMass college in Amherst, making her a local vegan celebrity! Hannah was noticed by a publishing company due to the popularity and quality of her BitterSweet blog.

Jenny Brown of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary gives a turkey some love. Susie Coston of Farm Sanctuary gives a cow the same.

Susie is the caretaker of the hundreds of animals who reside at Farm Sanctuary, and knows each one by name.
