Our 74th show features an interview with Kevin Gianni of The Renegade Health Show. Kevin is preparing to go out on tour in his RV and takes some time to tell us about his show and his recent activities. We talk about raw food, the Vitamix, fitness, bags under the eyes, yoga and attention deficit disorder, coffee, cacao-induced rashes, and all kinds of other wacky stuff.
Our 73rd show features an interview with Carolyn Scott, who travels around the world and tries vegan food out at omnivorous restaurants. She makes videos and blogs about the experiences. We met Carolyn at Burning Man 2007 when she came to visit The Vegan Bus. She gives us her insights and favorite places to eat.
On our 72nd show we introduce a new co-host, Jilian Oder. Jilian is an ovo-lacto vegetarian who wants to go vegan. Derek and Scott hope to help her make the change. This show marks her first day as a vegan, and over the course of the next few episodes we will follow her progress, trials and tribulations. Jilian takes over the show as we interview the author of The Joy of Vegan Baking, Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. Colleen talks to us about her book and the nuances of vegan baking.
Megan is leaving for India to find her true self and Derek and Scott take over the show. When scheduled guest and spiritual vegan Will Tuttle fails to call in the hosts go into their own metaphysical rants and views on reality. We debut new bumpers of Persia White talking about Earthlings and Skinny Bitch author Rory Freedman giving us props.
Our 70th show is going to be Megan's last appearance for 6 months while she visits India, and we say our good-byes. We feature an interview with Ruthann Russo who is the author of The Raw Food Diet Myth. Ruthann and her daughter Emmalea went raw 2 years ago when Emmalea was diagnosed with epilepsy. Since then there have been no seizures and Ruthann has been on a journey of discovery with the raw food diet.
Our 69th show features and interview with Melanie Joy, author of the book Strategic Action for Animals. Melanie talks about the most effective ways of building a movement. We also ask her about the abolitionist vs welfarist divide in the modern animal liberation movement, the tactics of Peta, and much more. This show also occurs a couple days before Thanksgiving so we give tips about surviving the holiday.
